For me, singing sad songs often has a way of healing a situation. It gets the hurt out in the open into the light, out of the darkness. One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.

About

Franklin David Sperry was born the fourth of 10 children to William and Pauline Sperry. Although David was born in Lousia Ky, the family lived in West Virginia where his father was a coal miner.
David Sperry's interest in music started when he was a young child. In 1969, when he was twelve, the Sperry family moved to Coumbus,Ohio. From there David was always inspired by all the sounds of music from Christian, Country and Bluegrass artists which he heard on the radio throughout his life.
David grew up loving all music. His favorite Artist were Don Williams, The Singing Cookes and Kenny Rogers, and the list goes on.
With a voice, a dream, and a drive to become a singer, and with much faith, David began singing publicly around Columbus, Ohio in 2000.

It wasn't until 2000 David's first CD was recorded in Columbus, Ohio with blue moon recording studio.)
He related to many of the songs, and he was inspired to sing and record them because of his personal life experiences. His first CD "He Still Looks Over Me" launched his career and he began performing for audiences at a variety of venues from clubs, weddings and churches to backyard BBQ.

There always seems to be a story of joys and heartaches behind every singer, and David Sperry is no exception. After working for a factory for 23 years, David’s career abruptly ended when the company ceased operations. He then went to work with a private ambulance company transporting patients, particularly the elderly. Although he took a reduction in pay, he enjoyed working with the elderly and had more free time to work on his music. Often his patients requested that he sing or play his CD for them. His music touched their hearts, which also blessed him.

David went from place to place singing mostly in nursing homes and churches, and his popularity grew. In late 2001, David won a karaoke contest with Judy's Karaoke and DJ in Lancaster, Ohio. This allowed him the opportunity to start working with the Tennessee Productions Center Inc. A prestigious recording studio in Tennessee which has recorded popular artists like Bill Monroe, Porter Wagoner and other well known Artists. David really enjoyed singing in the studio, and his love for music and singing started to blossom.

When David’s younger brother tragically died in 2002, David turned even more to music to heal. From that point on, He started working with the Tennessee Production Center, and recorded his second CD "Because He Lives". The first song, “Go Rest High On That Mountain” (written by Vince Gill) was dedicated to his brother Kenneth W. Sperry.

The release of the second CD lit a fire to his career, with popular songs like “Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning? and “Lord I Hope This Day Is Good.” In 2003, David recorded his third CD "I Believe In You which included the inspirational and popular song "Long Black Train.” (Written by Josh Turner.)

Although David loves country music, He also loves singing Christian music and ministering to people and seeing people give their lives to Jesus Christ. After singing for several years and experiencing many other heartbreaking situations, David felt he was being called to record his fourth CD, "I Am I Said." (Written by Neil Diamond) which was recorded in 2006. This includes heart felt songs such as, “Three Wooden Crosses,” “Wayfaring Stranger,” and “Stars and Stripes”.

With a new prospective on life and looking ahead, David was motivated to record his fifth CD in the late summer of 2007, “There's Only You". This was an awesome experience for him to record this CD, and his faith was growing in God more and more each day, and his heart for God was evidenced in songs like his favorites, such as “Jesus And Mama” and "There's Only You”.

“I have two different sides of my personality, ”David Sperry explains. “I have a crazy, wild, humorous, outspoken personality, and then I have a depth that only opens up when I am alone or talking to God and that is captured with this album “Miracle In Me”. I really couldn’t do one without the other.”
I sing to music depending upon the mood that I’m in. If I want to chill out, I will sing to a certain sound and almost make a playlist for it. If I am on stage and want to up-paced the music, then I sing different songs, so I created a two-sided me.”

Singing and recording is my passion; this is my love,” David says. “There’s a part of myself that comes out that I really like and it’s very important to me. This is a dream, It has been a dream since I was a kid. I think I always wanted to be an entertainer. There’s an element from being on stage where you can be funny and also be a singer. That is what I really want, that full scope of being a true entertainer and myself.”
