Country Star Rodney Atkins Helps Launch The Thank You
Movement Today To Honor Veterans &
Troops
Platinum-selling country artist Rodney
Atkins has partnered
with Applebee’s to launch
the world’s largest ongoing military thank you
campaign, honoring veterans and active duty soldiers
worldwide. As Ambassador of
the Thank You
Movement, Rodney Atkins officially launched
the campaign this morning with an exclusive
announcement on NBC’s Today show,
followed by a stellar live performance for an
enthusiastic crowd of civilians, veterans and
military organizations in New York’s Times
Square. Guests of honor at the event included
representatives from Pinnacle Five, comprised of
senior enlisted members from the all respective
branches of the U.S. Military, as well
as Disabled American
Veterans (DAV) and Military.com—the largest military
and veteran membership organization consisting of 10
million members.
Aimed at creating a groundswell of gratitude for our
nation’s military, theThank You
Movement offers messages of thanks to
our veterans and troops via www.thankyoumovement.com, Applebee’s Facebook Fan Page,
#thankyoumovement onTwitter and on YouTube. The Web site will host a
live rolling counter of ongoing “Thank Yous.”
Veterans and active duty troops can then go online
anytime to see and hear heartfelt thanks from the
people they serve.
The Thank You Movement is
a natural extension of both Rodney Atkins’ and
Applebee’s longstanding dedication to veterans and
active duty military. Atkins has always made
time to support the U.S. armed forces and their
families, often visiting with soldiers, volunteering
at various base concerts, and spending time with
wounded warriors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center.
In 2012, he will participate in a USO tour of
military bases abroad. Likewise, Applebee’s has
served more than two million free “thank you meals”
to the military on Veteran’s Day for the past two
years, and will continue the tradition this
year.
In addition to his military support and stellar
musical talent, Atkins spends his time in a variety
of charitable efforts. As the 2010 Spokesman for the
National Council for Adoption at Holston Methodist
Children’s Home in Greeneville, Tenn. — where he
himself was adopted as an infant — Atkins performs
there as often as he can, and participated in the
ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new “Rodney Atkins
Youth Home” in 2009. He also headlined the 2011
Music City Gives Back Benefit Concert, which
contributed donations to the American Red Cross
Relief Fund for tornado victims of the recent storms
throughout the Midwest and Southeast.
Rodney Atkins will also be featured in the November
2011 issue of the Nashville Music Guide

CJaye LeRose Making Waves on YouTube and
Music Row
Blossoming Country music singer CJaye
LeRose may currently be an unsigned artist but
with a social media following that swallows up several
of Nashville’s major label talents, there’s no denying
that she’s a force to be reckoned with.
LeRose, with nearly 3 million YouTube hits and
37 thousand channel subscribers, 19 thousand
Twitter followers and more than 18 thousand Facebook
‘likes,’ released her debut album,Date With The
Tub, this past
July. The news media has since taken
notice, giving LeRose national notoriety.
In 2009, LeRose created her own YouTube channel to
raise awareness about animal adoption, but it was
when she started posting videos of her songs that she
began receiving multitudes of hits.
Earlier this year, LeRose made the move from her home
in Houston, Texas to Nashville, Tennessee. The
decision was a major leap of faith but with thousands
of fans behind her, she didn't lack support.

About Swanky’s Taco Shop:
In 2004, an idea to combine the atmosphere and service of
upscale restaurants with the pricing and convenience of
fast-casual dining blossomed into what is now Swanky’s Taco
Shop. And since burritos and tacos just are not
the same without a margarita or a beer, Swanky’s boasts a
full bar to better serve customers and to create a more
social evening atmosphere.
With three locations and counting, Swanky’s prides itself as
an upscale, quick service restaurant specializing in what
they’d like to call TN-Mex cuisine. They pair fresh food,
prepared in house daily, with a laid back atmosphere and
helpful staff to help make your visit as enjoyable as
possible. Swanky’s also RESPECTS the margarita. So
visit Swanky’s Taco shop in Franklin, East Memphis, or

Oak Ridge Boys Show It’s Only
Natural to Take Twitter by Storm
84 Million Impressions with 3.5 Million engaged followers for Oaks Twitter Chat
The Oak Ridge Boys have launched to new levels through
the power of social networking by generating about 84
million impressions during last night’s TweetChat
(#CMchat). A live chat was hosted by
Internet powerhouse Jessica Northey in celebration of
the award-winning group’s release of its new
CD, It’s Only
Natural and the
30th anniversary
of "Elvira".
Northey, founder of Country Music Chat on Twitter and owner of Finger Candy Media, LLC, says teaming with the mighty Oaks for the action-packed event proved an unparalleled and remarkable success. “My fingers are still so sore from trying to keep up with the chat last night. Any artist or band could learn from the Oak Ridge Boys about how to engage with their fans,” she says. “I am still receiving thanks and tweets from people talking about how incredible the OAKS were. I don't know if my Tweetdeck has recovered from the volume of tweets,” Northey adds. Hosted weekly, #CMchat (“Where Country Music Meets You”) has generated more than 300 million impressions. The entertainment forum is the first and only registered live “Country Music Chat” on Twitter. |

Nashville's Simon Ripley's Music & Art
Cover Feature in September issue of Nashville Music
Guide
Simon Ripley's Music & Art, one of Music City's
most unique and historic music stores is the feautre
story for our September Issue. Everything about the
shopping experience there is unique, and totally
different from the cold, impersonal feeling shoppers
can get at the national chain music stores and
big-box retailers.
We like to think that Simon Ripley's is simiar to the
Nashville Music Guide. We both our Nashville
originals and have a historic presence in the great
Nashville area, and in honor of our Anniversary this
month we are honoring Simon Ripley's for their
ability to capture the heart and soul of what Music
City is about.
MIcharl Simon and JOhn Ripley had the courage and
determination to open Simon Ripley's Music & Art
in October of 2009, in the middle of a crippling
economic downturn, and that bold move is paying off
big-time now.
Over the summer, Simon Ripley's received an award for
Best Website and another as a Top 100Retailer in the
entire country from the most prestigious music
retailing trade association, the National Association
of Music Merchants (NAMM)....

Jaron Lowenstein of Jaron and The Long Road
To Love and Joe Firstman Release Album From Their
Newly-Formed Band, Cordovas
Jaron Lowenstein of Jaron and the Long
Road to Love, known for his clever country hit “Pray
For You” and early 2000's smash hit “Crazy for this
Girl” from pop duo, Evan
and Jaron, has recorded a genre-bending
album with Joe Firstman (former band
leader of Last Call with Carson
Daly) and their new band Cordovas. The new
release, which shifts from Southern Rock to
Alt/Country to Gospel then Bluegrass, sometimes
within a single track, is now available worldwide
on iTunes and TheCordovas.com.
“This whole project has been one giant musical
evolution... and still continues to evolve daily,"
said Jaron. "Joe and I had no idea where this would
lead when we began working together back in May, but
we knew that combining our strengths would lead to a
sum that is greater than the individual parts. We set
out to create the best music we could -- music that
would inspire us first with the belief that if we're
moved by it, others will be too."
