MACY’S WELCOMES THE ONE-AND-ONLY SANTA CLAUS TO NASHVILLE AS HIS NATIONAL BUS TOUR REVS UP FOR THE HOLIDAY SEASON

WHAT: Trading in his reindeer for a shiny Macy’s tour bus, Santa Claus is coming to Nashville in style! Visiting children of all ages, Santa will welcome one-and-all to join in the festivities as he reminds everyone about the magic of the Christmas season and shares a few magical moments with his jolly elves.

Santa will continue to spread cheer with a special private visit to the Belle Meade Mansion at the historic Belle Meade Plantation where 5-time GRAMMY winner Wynonna Judd will perform holiday songs for the Make-A-Wish kids and their families as well as tour the historic mansion’s holiday decorations.  At 6 p.m. that evening, Santa will share his joy and Christmas cheer with the community at Macy’s Green Hills at 6 p.m.

MORE: Now in its third year, Macy’s famous Santa will embark on his popular whirlwind American tour.  Aflac will partner with Macy’s to bring holiday happiness to boys and girls in 26 cities across the United States through December 21, when Santa’s National Tour gives children the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the man himself.  Visit macys.com/believe for scheduled stops and to track Santa’s journey across the U.S.!

As it has for the past three years, Macy’s “Believe” campaign invites children to mail letters to Santa using Macy’s Santa Mail Letterboxes. Macy’s donates $1 for each letter mailed in-store, up to $1 million, to the Make-A-Wish Foundation®.

WHO: Santa Claus was first introduced to his home-away-from-home at Macy’s on 14th Street in 1862. As time passed, Macy’s expanded, moving Santa to the store’s new location on 34th Street in 1902. In 1924, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® stepped off for the first time to usher in the season and bring Santa to the store to unveil Macy’s famous Christmas windows. In 1947, Santa was immortalized in the classic film “Miracle on 34th Street,” and his home at Macy’s was proclaimed. Many decades later, Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade® has become the official start of the holiday season each year, bringing the one-and-only Santa Claus to town.
