TO FIND YOUR LOT IN A LOSS,YOUR BARGAIN MUST INCLUDE A CRISSCROSS - CBJ.
By ChiefBigJoeAn indelible perusal through my thoughts of enchanting bliss,in recollections of good times at table with my dad,mom and siblings, enjoying a sumptuous meal, led to this place in my memory lane.I come from a large nucleus family on my parternal side of inductions that are made of a couple of stepmothers, brothers and sisters. My dad being a prominent figure in the royal affairs of his hometown - a little big village, and having a chain of farms as a result of inheritance and family preferences and precedents, was often found travelling from the little big town where he lived and worked to his hometown on numerous occasions as a responsible person of essential duties.
Due to these incumbent family and social getogethers, behoving various commitments and penultimate necessities,my life as a growing child and teenager was characterized with a lot of interesting situations and remarkable instances. The story of the incident that I'm about to narrate, took place in the time when my father was working as school principal of another school much more closer to his hometown, than the other school of my previous story - 'Be real with every deal as fine as 1979'.My father in a bid to help out with a dragging financial issue of one of my senior stepbrothers, who was with two children on his own, bought and started operating a little public passenger-transport van.He iniitially gave it out to this particular brother of mine to be driving it in business on commercial basis, and be making profitable account payments directly to my dad, with his driver's pay on the side.It was all in a good effort to help him cater for himself and his young family, since times were hard.Unfortunately,he started incurring unreasonable losses and so my father inspite of his generousity, was forced to crisscross in other words cancel, this senior brother of mine's favourable place as the driver of the van with the replacement of another stepbrother of mine who could drive as well, and a change of the driver's mate.
The work of the mate was usually that of collecting passenger fares for the driver,as well as helping out with the loading and unloading of passengers laugages of bags of clothing, baskets of foodstuffs, cotton sacks of cashcrops etc..etc...etc...I got to take the driver's mate's place 'cause I was then on a long summer vacation break from school and staying in the village with my dad,who was also taking a long break from work that year.He will occasionally go to his school-office in the big town where he worked as well as lived, in the mornings, and come back to his other home in the village at night for that season, as he did at other times along the way of his carreer.I was quite young then, but enjoyed the work position of being a driver's mate due to the interesting nature of it.I got exposed to taking charge and care of business with money and the wellfare of people involved, which endeared the task of doing well to my heart so much, because I enjoy helping out with situations of need and caring for others in want. There were a number of challenges to my being responsible, for which I shouldered the duties thereof in excellence. The work entailed a lot of interactions with various passengers travelling from one town to another, and surrounding villages to do their business, trade and live.Things took a good dramatic turn in the finances of the commercial van's business to the applaud of my dad.We did our best as a team in every situation with our lot,as we shuttled passengers from one place to the other, doing business in every profitable way. There were situations of considerations and leniency in the course of our business with some notable passengers, who will ask for the favour in going an extra mile or two with them in taking their loads to certain places, that were out of our usual commercial range on regular basis.I for instance, had a good time in the ordeal, considering it a wholesome adventure and experience of important life lessons to my advantage of learning on the spot to handle people and their properties well.
I never learnt how to actually drive inspite of the ideas given me about it,from some of my stepsiblings who knew how to do so,as a result of their staying permanently then with my dad.I lived most times of my life then in the big city with my mom and close-siblings,and our mom didn't have a car of her own,and can't even drive up to date because of that.I also have a lot of friends back in my homecountry who live in the city where I mostly grew up,and who due to the easy access of public transportaion i.e. buses,wooden-truck-passenger lorries and the every minute availability of taxi-cabs are not able to drive just like me.It's so common a situation to find a lot of people that way there, because you don't even see or realize so much that you are left out in that,'cause you are able to go anywhere at anytime of the day and night, without driving on your own.Nonetheless,I still look forward to driving someday soon.I think it will be great and fun to do so.
One evening whiles making our daily financial account to my dad,he remarkably said in a pensive mood that, some problems in life are easily solved than others.Nevertheless,in every issue of encounter, one will always find his or her lot in a loss, when a considerate bargain is checked, marked or marred with the consice and precise decisions of a necessary crisscross.
Times have changed and a lot has transpired in the advent of time, yet truth is always bearing fruit in every area of choice. That is why I often find myself in accord with this concept of clarity that, - 'to find your lot in a loss, your bargain, which could mean what you do or intend to do,the things you have allowed to take hold of you, your priorities, probabilities and possibilities, should and must include a necessary crisscross', - i.e. omission of failures, flops and flaws that are not healthy and helpful to your progress and success in life for good.
