NASHVILLE, TN – (April 22, 2011) – Nineteen-year-old Atlantic Records’ multi-talented performer, musician, writer and producer Hunter Hayes receives the honor of CMT’s “Next Big Thing”– an extension of the network’s “Big New Music Weekend.” CMT will air the worldwide premiere of Hunter’s new video, “Storm Warning,” on today, April 22. “Storm Warning,” written by Hunter, Gordie Sampson and busbee, is the debut single from his forthcoming album set for release later this year. Hunter wrote or co-wrote every song on the album, played every instrument and co-produced with veteran producer Dann Huff (Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban). The single “Storm Warning” is available now at all digital retailers.
Beginning this summer, Hunter will join superstar Taylor Swift for select dates on her “SPEAK NOW WORLD TOUR 2011” beginning July 28 in Grand Rapids, MI.
Hunter Hayes, the Louisiana raised multi-instrumentalist (acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drums, electric guitar, ganjo, mandolin, keys and more) already carries with him an impressive resume that many would only dream of achieving in a lifetime: he performed “Jambalaya” with Hank Williams Jr. in front of 265,000 people at the age of four (now tracking more than 15 million YouTube views), appeared in “The Apostle” with Robert Duvall at the age of six, has played with Johnny and June Cash and Charlie Daniels, co-wrote songs recorded by RascalFlatts and Montgomery Gentry, performed for a US President and Congress and he has shared the stage with the likes of Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum and Trace Adkins (to name a few).
CMT “Big New Music Weekend” premieres today, April 22 and will debut nine music videos, including the world premiere of Hunter Hayes’ “Storm Warning” on CMT, CMT PURE and CMT.com. “Storm Warning” will begin its rotation on Friday at all CMT outlets.
