EVENT PROVIDES CHRISTMAS FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE CHILDREN
TONIGHT – DECEMBER 17, 2012 - HENDERSONVILLE
Nashville, Tenn. (December 17, 2012) – TNA IMPACT WRESTLING Stars Crimson and Sam Shaw join the growing list of celebrities helping Christmas 4 Kids spread holiday cheer to hundreds of underprivileged children throughout Middle Tennessee. For a small donation (ticket information below), the Annual Tour Bus Show and Artist Meet & Greet gives fans an opportunity to step on board the tour buses of more than fifty artists and celebrities, many of whom will be present signing autographs and giving an inside look at their mobile home-away-from-home.
The event will be held tonight, Monday, December 17, at the Hendersonville Wal-Mart located at 204 North Anderson Lane from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM. In addition to Crimson and Shaw, special guests Sweethearts of the Rodeo, Lisa Matassa and Paul Stout join previously announced artists Gretchen Wilson, Craig Campbell, Daryle Singletary, The Roys, The Grascals, Phoenix Drive, Crystal Shawanda, Jamie Lee Thurston, Clinton Gregory, Shane Thomas, Austin Hicks and Ty Brown.
All proceeds from the event will go to Christmas 4 Kids, a 501(c)-3 not-for-profit organization that has been in existence for over 25 years and provides underprivileged children with the funds to shop and purchase Christmas gifts for family and loved ones – something most have never had the opportunity to do before.
Funds generated by this year’s annual concert featuring Charlie Daniels along with special guests Rodney Atkins, Phil Vassar, Thompson Square and Caroline Kole as well as the Celebrity Golf Tournament and Tour Bus Show events will provide over 400 children from 29 different schools a day-long shopping excursion. The special day consists of a chauffeured trip from their school aboard an entertainer's luxury tour bus, lunch and a party hosted by Santa and Mrs. Claus at Hendersonville Expo Center. To wrap up the day, these children will receive a brand new winter coat and $150.00 to spend on anything they want during a Walmart shopping spree!

“The 2012 Christmas 4 Kids Celebrity Golf Tournament Presented By: PREVOST was a hit for everyone involved,” said Debbie Lamberson. “We raised over $32,000 that will help local children experience the gift of giving this Christmas. I am truly excited to see the look on every one of the children’s faces this December as they shop for their friends and family.”
“Elaine and I have been supporters of Christmas 4 Kids for several years now, but this is our first time co-hosting an event for the organization,” said Lee Roy of The Roys. “We are grateful to all the golfers who participated knowing the money raised will give children the opportunity to buy Christmas presents for their friends and family.”
This year the course featured themed holes and challenges including a Hole-In-One prize, a Ball in Chip Challenge, a Las Vegas Trip Hole, and Closest to the Pin Challenge where participants competed for the chance to win a $25,000 cash prize, a jar of Popcorn Sutton’s Tennessee White Whiskey, a $1,000 cash prize, and a FREE Zoom teeth whitening experience. After the tournament the participants enjoyed a live performance by several of the celebrities taking part in the event including The Roys, Tracy Lawrence, Troy Gentry, Nathan Douglas, and Eric Lee Beddingfield. During a live auction, hands were flying for the chance to win the lyrics to “Devil Went Down to Georgia”handwritten by Charlie Daniels himself, a guitar signed by the Tennessee Titans and the opportunity to see Montgomery Gentry in concert.
In addition to the golf tournament Christmas 4 Kids features other events throughout the year including the annual Charlie Daniels & Friends Concert in November and the Tour Bus show in December. Celebrities set to take a “swing in the name of
charity”
Mt. Juliet, Tenn. (November 22, 2011) – In 1982, the late Conway Twitty, with a little help from friends Loretta Lynn and The Oak Ridge Boys, had a vision to help make children who otherwise would be without a Christmas, enjoy the spirit and joyful times of the Holiday. Since that time, then known as Christmas Caravan and now incorporated as Christmas For Kids, the organization has helped brighten thousands of children’s lives during the Holidays.
Since its debut to the Nashville area, Christmas 4 Kids has had the whole community buzzing with anticipation for its annual events. Now 29 years later, in the spirit of Twitty and Lynn, Debbie Lamberson, President of Christmas For Kids, Inc., has announced the organization has created an annual golf outing to continue raising awareness and funds.
“My father toured and played for Loretta, so I have known about this organization since I was a kid,” says Lamberson. “I became the organization’s President in 1994, with one goal in mind, to find a way to help more children enjoy Christmas.”
The 1st annual Christmas 4 Kids Celebrity Golf Tournament presented by Prevost will take place on April 10th at the Pine Creek Golf Course in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. The annual event will be hosted by the newly-awarded ICM Bluegrass Artist of the Year recipients, brother and sister duo The Roys. “We are thrilled to lend our name to such a great organization. We love giving back, and helping kids just warms our hearts. It'll be a fun day and the best part is we are helping kids have Christmas! That's magic!” says Elaine Roy.
“Being involved with Christmas For Kids for the last four years has been incredible for us. Getting to put our names on such a great event really means the world to us. Having two kids of my own I cannot imagine them not having a Christmas. We look forward to playing some golf with our friends and raising a lot of money for the kids. As Elaine said it's going to be magic!!” adds Lee Roy.
