JANA KRAMER EARNS HER FIRST RIAA GOLD CERTIFICATION FOR TOP 10 HIT SINGLE "WHY YA WANNA"
By My Country SpaceKramer Received Plaque at Warner Music Nashville’s Pickin’ On The Patio Celebration
(L-R) Scott Hendricks (Sr. VP, A&R WMN / album producer), Chris Stacey (Sr. VP, Promotion WMN), Jordan Pettit (National Director, W.A.R Promotion), Chris Palmer (VP, W.A.R Promotion), John Esposito (President & CEO WMN), Peter Strickland (Sr. VP, Brand Management & Sales WMN)
NASHVILLE, TN – (August 27, 2012) – Jana Kramer’s Top 10 hit single, “Why Ya Wanna,” recently earned Gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) which marks an exciting career first. Kramer was presented with a plaque marking this special accomplishment at Warner Music Nashville’s Pickin’ On The Patio party August 23. “Why Ya Wanna,” which is currently Top 10 and continues to build, ranks as the highest charting female debut since Taylor Swift’s 2006 single “Tim McGraw.”
Kramer has impressively sold over 700,000 single tracks, including over half a million of “Why Ya Wanna.” In addition to having her self-titled debut album premiere at No. 5 on the Top Country Albums Chart, the chart success of “Why Ya Wanna” also makes Kramer the fastest rising debut artist of 2012.
Named one of “Summers Hottest Artists” by People Country and one of the “Season’s Biggest New Names” by Billboard, Kramer is currently on Brad Paisley’s “Virtual Reality Tour” performing through September on the “Virtual Opry Stage.”
New York Times raved about her self-titled debut CD, noting Kramer’s “best moments are on ‘Over You by Now’ and on the outright devastating ‘When You’re Lonely,’ which seethes with the fire of early Reba McEntire, or the darker side of Dolly Parton’s oeuvre, with Ms. Kramer letting her voice bleed at the edges and drawing her vowels out and down, landing on fertile ground.”

event Citizens Helping Heroes presents Southern Tribute IV Honoring
America’s Heroes. The concert is open to paid sponsors and their
guests. The Hall of Fame members who recently released their new
album, Last
of a Dyin’ Breed,
(August 21) will also perform inside the convention center on
Monday, August 27, as Ann Romney is introduced to the attendees.
This is not the first time the guys have lent their voices in
support of the GOP, Lynyrd Skynyrd performed at the Republican
National Convention in 2000 as well as at various campaign stops
for President Bush and again at the RNC in 2004.
Grammy-winning
group, The Oak Ridge Boys will take center stage and show their
patriotism by performing the National Anthem on Monday, August
27. The country legends have been proclaimed the official
leading singers of the anthem by the National Music Council in
recognition of the iconic group’s contribution to the preservation
of patriotic American music, their longstanding advancement of
musical culture and their commitment to celebrating the global
diversity of music traditions. The Oak Ridge Boys will also be
attending various other special events during the RNC. They
performed at the Republican National Convention in New Orleans in
1988 and at White House event on numerous
occasions.
Known
for his patriotic anthem “God Bless the USA,” Lee Greenwood will
perform twice on August 27 at events outside the RNC - one private
show for convention guests and one show open to the public both at
the Hard Rock Café beginning at 9 pm. In May of this year,
Greenwood released his book “Does God Still Bless the U.S.A.? A
Plea for a Better America,” an inspirational work examining
America’s challenges and her future. A Presidential Appointee
serving on The National Endowment for the Arts Council, Greenwood
was honored with the prestigious National Patriot’s Award,
presented by the Congressional Medal of Honor Society. In
addition, Greenwood is the national spokesperson for Operation
Never Forgotten (ONF), an all-volunteer national non-profit
communications service that connects military and civilian worlds
through non-partisan public service announcements (PSAs). He has
also entertained the troops on more than 30 USO tours over the

BLAKE SHELTON CELEBRATES SEVENTH CONSECUTIVE NO. 1 WITH “OVER”
Blake’s First Christmas Album, Cheers, It’s Christmas, Due Out October 2 on Warner Bros. Records
NASHVILLE, TN – (August 22, 2012) – Blake Shelton’s latest single, “Over,” now marks his seventh consecutive No. 1 and his 12th No. 1 hit to date. Blake has not had a single peak outside the Top Ten since 2007. “Over” is the fourth single off Blake’s GRAMMY nominated album of the year, Red River Blue. When asked about “Over” Blake said, “Long before The Voice, the only place you could hear my voice was on Country Radio. I owe a lot of my success to the support of my fans and radio.”
Blake is also getting ready to release his first Christmas album, Cheers, It’s Christmas on October 2, 2012 on Warner Bros. Records. The album will feature several duet performances including fellow The Voice advisor Michael Bublé, long-time friend, Reba and a very special duet with his mother, Dorothy Shackleford. The album includes classic Christmas songs that have touched Blake over the years. Many of the tracks were also recorded at the famous Capitol Studios with full orchestral accompaniment.
“I wanted my Christmas record to be a classic-sounding album, bigger than any genre,” Blake said. “The recording process definitely took me out of my element and pushed me to really work through a lot of ideas. But in the end, what Scott Hendricks (producer) and I came up with is a classic Christmas record that I’m very proud of.”
The New York Times praises Blake Shelton as one of the "most versatile of contemporary country singers.” In 2012, Blake was nominated for three GRAMMY® Awards including a nod forRed River Blue as Country Album of the Year. Off the current release, “Over,” “Drink On It,” “God Gave Me You” and “Honey Bee” have all topped the charts and “Over” marks Blake’s seventh consecutive No. 1 and his twelfth to date. Red River Blue debuted at No. 1 on the SoundScan Top Current Albums chart and SoundScan Top Country Albums chart with the Associated Press calling the album “the best album of his career.” Blake’s infectious multi-week No. 1 hit, “Honey Bee" is his first ever digital Platinum single. He holds the record for the fastest-selling digital Platinum single for a male country solo artist. The single held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Country chart for four weeks in a row with over 40 million in audience. No country artist has held this record in almost six years.
