CURB RECORDS SET TO RELEASE NEW HANK III PROJECT ‘LONG GONE DADDY’ ON APRIL 17TH

Hank III - Long Gone DaddyNashville, TN (February 28, 2012) – “Tidy” is not a word often associated with the against-the-grain work of Hank III, but it’s a fitting way to describe the way “Long Gone Daddy” packages up a full-bodied sampling of his career, style and influences.

Due April 17 on Curb Records, this 10-song collection could have been titled “Long Gone Granddaddy” for the shuffling country blues flavor of not just the Hank Williams covers but of much of the batch.

Grandpa’s contributions, title track “I’m A Long Gone Daddy” and “Neath A Cold Gray Tomb of Stone,” are complemented by fiddle and steel-drenched songs written by  generations he influenced, including   Merle Haggard (“The Bottle Let Me Down”),  Johnny Cash (“Wreck of the Old 97”) and Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson (“Good Hearted Woman”).

The singer-songwriter Hank Williams influenced most – on this record, at least – is Hank III, whose remarkable vocal, including yodeling sendoff on the title track, would have been  just right on a circa 1950 Grand Ole Opry or Louisiana Hayride stage.

A collection of six previously unreleased recordings and four resurrected from prior releases, the album is an exclamation point on the style and mood of Hank III’s 1999 “Risin’ Outlaw” breakthrough and   acclaimed follow-up “Lovesick Broke & Driftin’.”

As “This Ain’t Montgomery,” a lament of the state of modern country, states: “Hank Williams is dead and he ain’t comin’ back here again.”

True, of course. But he’d be proud of his grandson.

Track Listing:
1) I'm A Long Gone Daddy
2) Sun Comes Up
3) The Bottle Let Me Down
4) Wreck Of The Old '97
5) Neath A Cold Gray Tomb Of Stone
6) The Wind Blew Cold
7) Good Hearted Woman
8) This Ain't Montgomery (with Joey Allcorn)
9) What They Want Me To Be
10) If The Shoe Fits (Shuffle Mix)

Joan Osborne Available for Interviews

Joan Osborne - Bring It On Home Joan Osborne once recalled how “Blues music rescued me when I was in need of rescue.”  On her newest album, Bring it on Home, Joan returns the favor and it’s the blues that gets new life.  Drawing from a voice the New York Times called “angelic ecstasy and sexual abandon,” Joan Osborne has at long last made an album of vintage blues, R&B and soul songs.

Bring it on Home also includes tracks originally made famous by American blues masters such as Sonny Boy Williamson (“Bring it on Home”), Muddy Waters (“I Want to Be Loved”), as well as recordings originally released by some of the greatest R&B singers ever including Ray Charles (“I Don’t Need No Doctor”), Al Green (“Rhymes”) and Otis Redding (“Champagne and Wine”).

Bring it on Home was produced by Joan and her longtime music director/guitarist Jack Petruzzelli. It was recorded live in the Waterfront Studios in Hudson, NY by engineer Henry Hirsch (Lenny Kravitz), who used an original 24 track Studer tape machine to recreate the warm and organic analogue sound of the era.  Guest musicians include Barbecue Bob Pomeroy (harmonica), Allen Toussaint (piano on his own “Shoorah! Shoorah!”) and vocalists the Holmes Brothers and Rufus Thomas’ daughter, Vaneese Thomas.  Jimmy Vivino, Conan O’Brien Show Band musical director, assembled all horn arrangements and also played electric piano on “I Don’t Need No Doctor.”

About Hank Williams Jr.
With more than 70 albums to his credit, Williams has a fascinating career to reflect upon for a legend still in his prime. His discography chronicles a bold profile of growth from adored offspring of a legendary father, to titan of the modern country rock movement in his own right. For two decades, America came to its collective feet each fall Monday night when this larger than life superman of a musician looked into the camera and unleashed the national anthem for viewers of Monday Night Football – ‘Are you ready for some football?’ Those simple words have won Williams an entirely new generation of fans and given him the distinction of being the first country performer to ever win an Emmy. Williams has also been named Entertainer of the Year five times, and most recently was the recipient of the 2009 Academy of Country Music “Pioneer Award”.

From Pittman to New Faces, CRS Will Cook

When the Country Radio Seminar returns to town Feb. 22-24, keynote speaker Bob Pittman will set a powerful tone on Wednesday morning that will get even more intense all the way through to the closing New Faces Show on Friday night.

Pittman, who has previously run media giants MTV and AOL, is now CEO of the biggest radio company, Clear Channel Media. For the Country Radio Seminar (CRS), a timely and must-hear keynote speech has become an annual highlight.

“The whole focus on the keynote speakers is to try to get someone that is topical and who brings a unique perspective,” said Bill Mayne, executive director of the Country Radio Broadcasters, the organization which puts on CRS. “Last year, we had Ken Lowe, who pretty much invented cable TV at Scripps. By My Country Space

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME COUNTRY?
BEST OF HANK WILLIAMS JR. (ALL MY ROWDY FRIENDS)
LAUNCHES FROM CURB RECORDS MARCH 27TH

Country Icon Proves Again Why He’s A Pop Culture Giant
Album available exclusively at Walmart

Hank Williams Jr - All My Rowdy Friends(Nashville, Tennessee) — February 20, 2012 – Fans of Hank Jr. can kick the wintertime blues with the announcement from Curb Records of the March 27 release of a retrospective collection of signature hits from the iconic superstar. The package will feature 22 of Hank Jr.’s best songs that span decades of his high octane music making career, that includes high points such as Family Tradition, A Country Boy Can Survive, All My Rowdy Friends Are Comin’ Over Tonight, and Whiskey Bent And Hell Bound.

In the history of recorded music, perhaps no ‘second generation’ heir to a musical dynasty has surpassed superstar status to become a true American icon as boldly as Hank Williams, Jr.  With stacks of gold and platinum lining his walls amid Grammys and Emmys and the reflection of the nearby crowns of Entertainer of the Year resting comfortably on his mantle, Jr. has carved a giant niche in the annals of the record industry.  Stepping from the shadows of the greatness of Hank Sr. the current incarnation of family greatness is unique in Hank Jr’s relevance and the amazing influence of his music and image as part of America’s pop culture.   He is by any definition a 21st century pop culture force to be reckoned with.

Along the way, as witnessed by the new Curb package, Hank Jr.’s music has become rooted as a unique creative barometer consistently reflecting both our nation’s challenges and the resilience of human nature in general—and Hank’s creative finger on the pulse of culture in particular. From the familiar shout of "Are You Ready For Some Football" to the brooding country patriotism of "A Country Boy Can Survive,"  Hank is seemingly permanently woven in the midst of America’s daily soundtrack of life--from football, to politics, to his latest reincarnation of the Williams family’s traditional way with a song.

 Tracks include:
"Family Tradition"
"Whiskey Bent And Hell Bound"
"Women I've Never Had"
"Outlaw Women"
"Kaw-Liga"
"Old Habits"
"Dinosaur"
"The Blues Man"
"Texas Women"
"Dixie On My Mind"
"All My Rowdy Friends (Have Settled Down)"
"A Country Boy Can Survive"
"If Heaven Ain't A Lot Like Dixie"
"The Conversation"
"All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight"
"Country State Of Mind"
"Born To Boogie"
"If The South Woulda Won"
"There's A Tear In My Beer" (with Hank Williams)
"Red, White, & Pink-Slip Blues"
"Bartender Song (Sittin’ At The Bar)" (with Rehab)
"All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming For Monday Night Football"

Whether old or new friend or fan of Hank’s, the March 27 release from Curb offer a singular reminder across the span of all 22 tracks:  Now in a sixth decade of making music, Hank’s totally ‘done it his way’.

NEAL MCCOY RETURNS WITH NEW CD, XII, MARCH 6

By My Country Space
Produced by reigning CMA Male and Female Vocalist of the Year, Blake Shelton
and Miranda Lambert, and Guitar Slinger, Brent Rowan

Nashville, TN (February 20, 2012) - Returning to country music after a five year-hiatus multi-platinum recording artist Neal McCoy’s highly anticipated new album, XII, will be released March 6, 2012. Produced by CMA’s reigning Male and Female Vocalist of the Year, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, and renowned guitar-slinger, Brent Rowan, this Blaster Records’ debut is McCoy’s 12th studio album. Already creating a buzz amongst top media outlets, McCoy’s upcoming television appearances include a satellite media tour in New York, and segments on “Hannity,” “Huckabee,”  “411 Live,” and “Better TV,” to name a few. Plus, McCoy returns to host GAC’s highly-rated, Top 50 Videos of the 2000s, debuting February 20, 2012.

“Neal is not only a friend of mine, but my hero,” commented Blake Shelton about working with McCoy on XII. “Our first priority with this album was that Neal only cut songs that he truly loved and was excited about. That was very important to us.” Miranda Lambert added, “It was a blast seeing Neal and Blake together…had the place laughing all the time. I think fans will hear three different artists coming together on this album with their individual takes on the music.”

Some of Nashville’s best writers—including Tom Douglas, Rivers Rutherford, Jamey Johnson, Allen Shamblin, Rhett Akins, and newcomers Luke Laird, Brett Eldredge, Geroge Terren and Barry Dean, came forward to contribute their very best songs. The end result from the ‘consummate live performer’ is a new collection that offers a little something for every listener. From the bouncy, bright, feel good single, “A-OK,” (featuring Lambert and Shelton on background vocals), to the infectious bar-room, toe-tapper, “Shotgun Rider,” to the engaging ballad, “Judge a Man by the Woman,” and classic, “Van Gogh,”   the project is chock full of good music.

“It’s like my shows, a little bit of everything that makes music special,” said McCoy. “XII has a little bit of church, a little bit of bar-room, a couple ballads that’ll encourage, and a real Texas thing about finding your groove in the midst of heartbreak with a cold beer and a good jukebox.” Blake and Miranda had definite ideas about what this should be – you almost couldn’t hold ‘em back.”

Recently listed as one of the Top 10 USO Tour Entertainers since the organization’s inception in 1941 (at number eight, between John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe), it has been 21 years since McCoy released his first single. Since that time,  he  has released 11 albums, had five #1 singles, over 25 charted singles, had a string of top ten radio hits, sold over 6 million albums all while completing over 15 USO tours and supporting the East Texas Angels Network, his charity for children with life-threatening illnesses.
