JO DEE MESSINA: Hosting “Night Of Nostalgia” Casino Night Saturday, March 3 In Nashville

By My Country Space

EVENT TO RAISE MONEY FOR NON-PROFIT
HOLY TRINITY MONTESSORI SCHOOL

Multi-platinum, award-winning country singer/songwriter JO DEE MESSINA is hosting a “Night Of Nostalgia, a big band swing and casino night, on Saturday, March 3 at7pm in Nashville. The event--at the Maxwell House Hotel--will raise money for the non-profit Holy Trinity Montessori School. Tickets are $60 and include open bar, light fare and dancing. Patrons will also be treated to a performance from Cliff Notes and MESSINA herself. To reserve your tickets, visit: http://nostalgia2012.eventbrite.com.

Last year, MESSINA launched the “A MILLION DOORS” campaign to help raise $2.3 million for the non-profit school in Nashville, with all funds going directly to the construction of a new schoolhouse.  Check out www.amilliondoors.com.

The Nashville-based philanthropist is working closely with Holy Trinity Montessori school head Kate Riley to build the 6000 square foot school for students up through third grade, and possibly up to fifth, offering them an affordable, hands-on education.  In the Montessori classroom, children are placed in a three-year multi-age grouping (0-3, 3-6, 6-9, etc.).

The school, founded in 2009, currently has 25 students enrolled, with another 45 on the waiting list.  The new schoolhouse will accommodate up to–-but no more than–-125 children. At Holy Trinity Montessori, the children develop a secure sense of self, independence, deep concentration, pride in their environment and a unique connection to God. The Montessori curriculum offers a comprehensive, developmental early childhood environment with areas focusing on language, mathematics, sensorial, practical life, cultural and religion.

“This isn’t about just a cause I believe in or the latest celebrity charity,” says MESSINA. “I want this campaign to show that even in a time when people feel there is little hope, that there IS hope and dreams still DO come true.  I chose it because we need people from all over to carry us with their support to make this dream come true.”

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE ON FEBRUARY’S MENU OF STARS AT “LARRY’S COUNTRY DINER”

By My Country Space

Larry's Country Diner

Lip-Smackin’, Toe-Tappin’ Spontaneous Good Times
at one of
RFD’s Top-Rated Shows

Billy Dean and Daughter Hannah
The Cleverlys
The Bellamy Brothers
Moe Bandy
Nashville, TN (January 30, 2012) – There may only be eighteen tables at Larry’s Country Diner,” but it serves 1.4 million peopleeach and every month as one of the top-rated shows on the RFD-TVnetwork.  The diner is not your ordinary restaurant, but rather a unique down-home variety show that in just over two short years has become a favorite “eatery” of country fans everywhere.  Cornbread and black-eyed peas only complement the heapin’ helpin’ of country music performances served up by the stars of yesterday and today.

A new episode of “Larry’s Country Diner” will air each week in February on the RFD-TV network.  February’s line-up offers a little something to satisfy every musical “taste” for country music fans:

Week of         Feb. 2:             Billy Dean with daughter, Hannah
                        Feb. 9:             The Cleverlys
                        Feb. 16:           The Bellamy Brothers
                        Feb 23:            Moe Bandy

Air times for “Larry’s Country Diner” are Thursday night at 7 P.M. CST/8 P.M EST, Friday morning at 9 A.M. CST/10 A.M. EST, or Saturday evening at 10 P.M. CST/11 P.M. EST.  For more information on “Larry’s Country Diner,” please visit larryscountrydiner.com

Taped bi-monthly in front of a live studio/diner audience at NorthStar Studios (3201 Dickerson Pike, Nashville), the show’s spontaneity is part of the mystique of “Larry’s Country Diner” which contributes greatly to its success.  “The prevailing attitude at the diner is ‘…the cameras are always rollin’… and we don’t care,’” explains Larry Black, host and creator of “Larry’s Country Diner.”

The fact that plates are dropped or broken during a performance, a rack of knives and forks are dumped on the floor or that some of the lights go out while they were filming makes the show all that more exciting in a day where even reality shows are produced within strict script guidelines.  “It’s the kind of television you just don’t see too much anymore and both the artists and fans love it,” states Black who adds, “We even tell our artists that once the tape starts rolling, it does not stop.  If you get yourself in trouble, get yourself out ‘cause we’re not stoppin’.”

Because of its popularity, getting a seat to see a live taping might prove more difficult than getting a reservation at one of L.A.’s most trendy posh restaurants—the first tables available are currently for the June 2012 taping, so you’ll want to plan way in advance.  For reservations, please call 615-673-2846 or emailpaula@gabrielcommunications.com

AARON LEWIS has received two ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC nominations for his debut country single “Country Boy,” continuing his breakthrough year as a solo artist.  The singer, songwriter and guitarist was nominated in the “Vocal Event of the Year” category for the song--which features George Jones and Charlie Daniels--as both the artist and co-producer, along with co-producer JAMES STROUD.  The song is from LEWIS’ acclaimed 2011 country debut EP TOWN LINE (R&J Records).  The ACM Awards will take place at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 1.

The Staind frontman is in Nashville with Grammy award-winning producer JAMES STROUD recording the follow-up to TOWN LINE, which debuted at #1 on the BillboardCountry Albums chart and #7 on the Top 200 Albums Chart.  The new album is planned for a spring 2012 release and its first single will be released in February or March (details TBA).

On “Country Boy”--certified gold, selling in excess of 500,000 copies-- LEWIS gets a little help from legends George Jones and Charlie Daniels, striking a balance between classic and modern country, as LEWIS tells his story like never before. Not only does the video include clips of Jones and Daniels in the studio, but it also draws from LEWIS' own family archives, giving a glimpse into his youth, home and passions. The video has been viewed over 12 million times on CMT.com andYouTube (http://youtu.be/vsQzw_Ax8Cw) alone. The single and video also earned LEWIS his first two CMT Music Award nominations: Collaborative Video of the Year” and “USAWeekend Breakthrough Video of the Year” (awarded to the best video from an artist's major breakthrough album).

Audiences across the country have experienced LEWIS’ riveting live version of the song and other highlights from TOWN LINE like “The Story Never Ends” and “Massachusetts” at LEWIS’ ongoing series of acoustic shows. In a recent review from his Temecula, CA show on 1/21, Rick Florino of ArtistDirect.com wrote: “During his solo acoustic shows and on his forthcoming new album, Lewis embodies the spirit of timeless country, continuing a long line perpetuated by the likes of George Jones, Waylon Jennings, and Hank Williams, Jr. He doesn't mince words. He speaks the truth, and his honesty reverberates via every single song he commits to tape…This ‘Country Boy’ will be remembered forever as the man who could do it all and more (1/22/12).”

TOWN LINE has also drawn critical praise from a wide variety of writers, including PEOPLE’s Chuck Arnold who said "He proves to be a natural on nostalgic ballads like 'The Story Never Ends,’ (3/14/11)," while ASSOCIATED PRESS’ Michael McCall wrote, “He injects a flavor of his own into a polished, commercial country sound in a way that could win over country fans who've never heard of Staind (2/28/11).”

WYNONNA KICKS UP THE VOLUME ON THE “NEW” IN THE NEW YEAR…

By My Country Space

Nashville, Tennessee (January 27, 2012) – With the New Year barely unwrapped and out of the box, the always irrepressible Wynonna is proving once again that diversity is her strong suit.

The five-time Grammy® Award winning artist, New York Times best-selling author and one half of the most successful duos in the history of country music, Wynonna, is juggling an exciting new palette of creative agendas, both personal and career related, head-on.

With her music topping the 30 million mark in sales, the anticipation continues to build as Wynonna prepares for her next studio project. With significant studio time already under her belt, Wy is blocking time to finish writing and recording the newest collection of original music much to the excitement of her legions of fans.

And, The Judd legacy continues with the announcement of their famed television docu-series “The Judds” currently airing on GAC – Great American Country.  The reality series, which debuted as the network’s highest rated show to date in April 2011 on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN Network, allowed cameras to follow the intricacies of The Judds’ often emotional Last Encore tour—their first reunion on the road after a 10-year sabbatical from their role as iconic mother/daughter duo.

For the first time ever, Wynonna will travel to Australia to perform in the 3-day CMC Rocks the Hunter music festival in March.  Judd will share the stage with industry heavyweights Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Dierks Bentley and many others during Australia’s biggest international country and roots festival.

Taking a breath to concentrate on the ‘personal,’ Wynonna is still basking in the after-glow of the Christmas Eve proposal from Highway 101 drummer, Cactus Moser.  Fans will be able to catch the happily engaged couple on the road together as “Wynonna & The Big Noise,” as shows are being set for a series of 2012 concert dates. As for ‘setting THE date’ for the forthcoming wedding –that’s still high on Wynonna’s personal New Year’s to do list as well.
