View AllMORE ABOUT ME
About Joe Willis: I'm a 3rd generation entertainer of the Willis family. My grandfather Dewitt Willis could play about any instrument he picked up but specialized on fiddle. He raised 5 out of six sons who became musician/entertainers and my father Joe was the original Willis brother who was part of the Original Oklahoma Wranglers. The original Wranglers consisted of Joe (vocals/yodeling) Guy (vocals/dancing) and Skeeter (vocals/trick fiddling) Joe left the group to get married. Vic then Joined Guy and Skeeter and went on to perform with Eddie Arnold and the Purina Radio Shows, and the Grand Ole Opry as featured artists. In the 50s the were part of the original Ozark Jubilee of Springfield, Mo. fame. In the early 60s their biggest hit "Give me 40 acres" brought them their biggest exposure and they were the longest running country act. I performed with them when I was discharged from the army and also performed with Bob Luman, Roy Drusky, Jeannie C. Riley while I was performing with the Homesteaders. I filled in for Guy or Skeeter on the Opry when either of them were ill. I also performed in Jim and Jesse's band on the road, Wilma Lee and Stoney Coopers band and Wilma Burgess band. My last performance on the Opry was with Lonzo (Dave Wooten) and Oscar when they were changing from a duet to trio singing style. I graduated from the University of Tennessee's School of Nursing in Nashville at this time and left the professional music business to practice as a Registered nurse. Working off and on with various local groups around the Nevada Missouri area. A few months ago I was helping a fellow musician who was unable to perform at a Senior dance. Jason Richison also was volunteering to provide music for the function. Our musical styles and abilities seemed to compliment each other so we took each others phone numbers and e-mail address. I knew an exceptional drummer Rick Bevenue and Jason knew a very talented steel guitarist Doug Hudson, who also sings very well. The rest is history and is now the foundation of The Charlie Horse Band. .

Hello to you and welcome. First of all, good luck to you in all that you do in 2009! If you don’t know Jamie Richards, please feel free to take a moment and check out his music on my page, and let us know what you think. If you like REAL Country Music, you will like Jamie Richards. He’s had 4 songs reach No.s 1 through 4 on the Texas Music Chart. If you like his new single, “Whiskey Nights” request it at your local radio station. Have a wonderful day!
